For embryos and juveniles a fixed proportion (1 - κ) of the mobilization flux is allocated to maturity maintenance and to maturation. For adults the same proportion is allocated to reproduction. The reproduction overhead is the proportion of energy from the reproduction flux that is used for egg production in the adult stage.
