The tree was generated using nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacers sequence (Gross, Fatemi, Julien and van Klinken, unpublished data). The Phyla nodiflora clade did not include any South American samples. Phyla spp. included populations from northern Argentina. All samples clustered in these two clades are excluded from this study.
