Fig. A1. Species relative biovolume (%) in algal polycultures before and after the addition of grazers for all factorial combinations of light and nitrogen. The dominance of Tetraselmis sp. under HL + N conditions was consistent, but otherwise Tetraselmis and Rhodomonas declined after the addition of copepods, whereas the dominant diatom C. danicus was not affected. These results indicate, that the copepods were preferential grazing on flagellates especially under HL –N and LL.
