S. Uthicke, F. Patel, and R. Ditchburn. 2012. Elevated land runoff after European settlement perturbs persistent foraminiferal assemblages on the Great Barrier Reefs. Ecology 93:111–121.

Appendix G (Table G1). Results of Similarity percentage (SIMPER) analysis of foraminiferal assemblages in inner and intermediate regions in the Whitsunday area of the Great Barrier Reef. Only results for group comparisons with significant (P < 0.05) PERMANOVA tests (see Table 5) are shown. (A): Comparison between assemblages from inner reef sediments older than 150 yr (> 150) and younger than 55 yr (< 55); average dissimilarity for the comparison between these groups was 29.37%. (B) Comparison between assemblages from intermediate reef sediments older than 150 yr (> 150) and younger than 55 yr (< 55), and those between 55 and 150 yr (55–150) compared to assemblages younger than 55 years. Average dissimilarities for these comparisons were 25.23 and 31.74%, respectively. Relative abundance data were fourth root transformed for analysis, but data shown are untransformed relative abundances (in %). Densities are shown for the twelve taxa contributing most to the difference between the age groups; (% C): the percentage contribution to the total dissimilarity of each taxon. Sixteen taxa are shown for intermediate reefs because the twelve taxa from each of the two individual comparisons are not exactly the same. Numbers in brackets indicate within group similarity (in %).
