Eric S. Menges and Pedro F. Quintana Ascencio. 2004. Population viability with fire in Eryngium cuneifolium: deciphering a decade of demographic data. Ecological Monographs 74:79–99.

Appendix E. Figures showing finite rates of increase (lambda, ) for Eryngium cuneifolium populations in sites with different time since fire under 12 different scenarios (SB, G1, G2) resulting in combinations of estimates of seed bank survival (SB: Low = L, Medium = M, and High = H), germination during first year (G1: Low and High), and germination during second year (G2: Low and High). The base scenario, which best predicts the years of peak aboveground population sizes and aboveground population disappearance was high-low-low (HLL). For each scenario, the relationship of lambda with time since fire was significant with an inverse function (P < 0.0001).
