TABLE C1. Hydrologic and geomorphic characteristics of study sites. "Active channel width" refers to the lateral distance between riparian banks, which corresponds to the area sampled. "Valley floor width" refers to the lateral distance between upland-riparian slope breaks and includes the active channel. "Site permanence" is the percentage of sample dates during which surface water was present at the site.
