HOMERANGESelect.exe calculates two information theoretic criteria (i.e., Akaike’s information criteria and likelihood cross-validation score) to determine the best home range model out of six candidate models. Algorithms are described in the original paper. The user should check the box next to each home range model you wish to include in the candidate set. Input data should be a tab-delimited text file with x and y coordinates. The input file should have column headings such as “x-coordinate” and “y-coordinate”. An example input data file, BF03.txt, is available from the file list. Output is sent to a text box in the initial form and can be copied and pasted into other software.
