Appendix D. A figure of a regression plot of larval recruitment compared to recruitment estimated from spent females.

FIG. D1. Relationship between spent female and larval recruitment estimates that suggests mortality between oviposition and the sampling of larval recruits was low compared to mortality in later larval stages. The number of eggs per pond was calculated using the estimated number of females ovipositing pond-1 year-1 and a mean fecundity female-1 of 878. The larval recruitment estimate was calculated using the density of early instar larvae in each of three microhabitats averaged over 2 sampling dates just after the end of the oviposition season, and multiplied by estimates of microhabitat area within each pond. The relationship was significant and moderate (P = 0.0163; r2 = 0.454, solid line), but was not significantly different from a 1:1 relationship (dotted line).
