Appendix B. A table showing effects of neighbor control, seeding method, and mulch on seedling establishment and survivorship in three seeding years.
Table B1. Effects of neighbor control (C), seeding method (S), and mulch (M) on seedling establishment (density in June of the seeding year) and survivorship (percentage change from June to August of the seeding year) in three seeding years. Other seeding methods (none and native hay) had low seedling densities and were omitted from analyses.

39 28.265 6.762 Notes: All statistics are from ANOVAs within each seeding year. Significant F values are in bold. Neighbor control (applied or not) and seeding method (broadcast or drilled) were main factors in all years. Mulch (applied or not) was a main factor in the 1994 seeding year. In the 1996 seeding year, mulch effects in plots that received neighbor control and broadcast seeding were examined with one-way ANOVA. Seedling densities were log-transformed and survivorship percentages were square-root transformed prior to analysis of survivorship.
