Appendix G. Results are presented of a principal component analysis on bird compositional data using the Hellinger distance. Plots representing the first four axes are shown.
The first axis of the PCA (%VE: 13.3%) on bird data represented a synthetic gradient from recently logged to unlogged forest with older logged forest intermediate (Fig. G1). The second, third and fourth axes (Fig. G2) explained 6.1%, 5.6% and 5.5% of variation.
